Leech Therapy

Leech Therapy

The use of leeches in medicine has a long tradition. The ancient Germanic tribes already appreciated leeches. The healing effect of the little bloodsuckers was known and loved. Although leech therapy is back on the rise again in clinics, many people are unaware or have forgotten its wonderful benefits.

By the almost painless bite of the leech various substances enter the body via the saliva. These substances are responsible for the excellent properties of the leech therapy.

One of these substances is HIRUDIN. It ensures the inhibition of blood clotting. CALIN also inhibits blood clotting. Following the fast acting Hirudin, Calin ensures a 3 -4 hours lasting cleaning of the wound by bleeding. This leads to the well-known, gentle bloodletting.

Other substances are anti-inflammatory and antibacterial.
